 We knew this day would come – our first real negative review. We never want to take business away from people, but as people that want to play the best courses, we simply can’t advise you to spend your money on a course that is not cared for. Unfortunately, that seems to be exactly what happened to the Scotch Hills Mini Golf, located on Shady Rest Country Club.

We must be fair, it is only $4/person for a round at the course, but the conditions of this course were in desperate need of some TLC. Carpets were noticeably ripped at the start of almost every hole. There were dark black marks on many holes indicating some very deep water damage. And the water near the back of the course was a murky, inky black. We had to throw a pebble in just to prove it was an actual liquid. 

This is all a real shame given that the actual Shady Rest Country Club has a deep and vibrant history as one of the first Black country clubs in the United States and its clubhouse is now a national landmark. We hope the town can see the benefit of restoring their miniature golf course as a real plus for the community.
