Our first stop on our exploration of the Wildwoods was Starlux Mini Golf, which is associated with Morey Piers and Waterparks. This incredibly innovative and meticulous design features three nine hole courses covering the beach, ocean, and boardwalk, all things that make a summer vacation great! The course is right across from the famous “Wildwoods” sign, and when you play their Boardwalk course, you have a beautiful view of the beach and ocean.

As we mentioned, this course is actually 3 separate 9 hole courses (it looks like Beach and Ocean make up one 18 hole course, and then they added the elevated level for 9 holes of Boardwalk). The ocean course features several water obstacles on blue fairways that make for more difficult puts, but nothing too challenging (Par 22). The beach course features large sand castles and dunes with hills and uneven greens, but again, nothing too challenging (Par 21). The Boardwalk course sits on an elevated platform above the other two, and features Wildwood memorabilia and trivia at each hole. While the construction and landscaping of the Beach and Ocean course was top-notch, the carpet and paint on the elevated Boardwalk course felt like it could use a refresh.

One real drawback of this course was the pricing. For an adult for 9 holes, it was $14. For 18 holes, it was $19, and for 27 holes it was $23; this had to be more expensive than any mini golf course we have every played. While the atmosphere of the course is beautiful, this pricing felt a little bit ridiculous. Obviously, we don’t expect the price to go down anytime soon, but we saw quite a few people arrive and only play 9 holes. If they want to encourage more game play, potentially a better bundle (or even something with their amusements) might be more appealing.

All in all, this was a really interesting course, and would rank very high for us in terms of atmosphere or experience. However, if you are just trying to get an activity for some young kids who won’t really appreciate the layout and difficulty of the course, there are probably less expensive options in the Wildwood area.
