Paradise Golf Center could be a slice of paradise, but they are going to need to up their game a bit for that to happen. This course in Flemington, NJ has potential to be higher in our ratings, but must figure out some improvements before we would make a visit again.
The course theme is called “Around the World in 18 Holes” and the scorecard lays that out with hole names like “California Gold”, “The Rain Forest” and “Gibraltar”. But the course itself isn’t actually connected to this theme at all, except for a few exceptions, but that is a stretch. While it appears they are going for a park vibe with natural water, it looked dirty and unkept. There were also several instances of standing water actually on the course.
In other areas, the ADA curb cuts were well in line with the natural path of the ball, causing several of our shots to skid off the green. While the turf and siding on most holes did appear in somewhat good shape, it was clear it wasn’t swept anytime recently.
We did enjoy the length of the holes, which did add some challenge to our game. Par was 44 and our winner came in at 45. However, $9 for adults felt just a tad high for a course that wasn’t in the best condition.
Overall, this course does have some potential, which is why it isn’t at the bottom of our ratings. There is an element of care and thought in the course. However, on the day we happened to attend, it just didn’t all line up.
