Offshore Adventure Golf is nestled just outside of Wildwood, which makes for a nice respite from the hustle bustle while still giving you a challenging course. Similar in many ways to Crazy 8’s Mini Golf (literally a mile down the road), the course is set right on the highway, so there is a little traffic noise to contend with.
One thing we found interesting at this course is that the sand traps are actually turf set below the level of the green (see picture at right), which means you aren’t able to hit out of them, like at some other courses. An interesting challenge that really affected our strategy! There are several longer greens and difficult turns that make this a really great course, and definitely well worth leaving the hustle bustle of the shore town for.
Pricing was $10/adult and $8/child when we attend, which was a good mid-level for a course of this quality. We tied at 48 here (Par was an unimaginative 40) but we could probably shave off a few mistakes.
Unfortunately, it looks like Offshore has done a bit of down sizing in the past few years. We can’t find anything specific about it online, but what used to be two courses is now just one course. They have also scrapped their batting cages as well. They have a “driving range” but is really what used to be a pitching game, so it’s single stall, and have some other smaller activities as well, but golf seems to be the center piece here.
Overall, this definitely seems like the more casual fun option of the two Rio Grande courses, probably better for more inexperienced players as well, but still a challenge. If you can, we definitely recommend taking in both Rio Grande courses, but those looking for the most challenging will probably want to hit up Crazy 8s first.
