We stopped by Bohem’s on our way out to Pennsylvania, and were disappointed to find it on the low end of driving range mini golf courses.
The course is all astro-turf, brick, and concrete. Actually, when we first arrived (maybe at 12:30pm on a Wednesday), it was a honor system payment for everything, which was a bit strange but we took it in stride given it was only $5/person. Unfortunately, they don’t seem to have a scorecard for their mini golf (we had to use one for their pitch-and-putt), and their balls were clearly painted which gave them an awkward feel.
Anyway, using our own clubs and balls as always, we ventured onto the course, and were a bit pleasantly surprised that there actually was some interesting hole design. There were two big jumps (albeit over just bricks) similar to the ones we’d seen at Schell’s, a nice classic windmill, and a hole in the shape of a heart. However, most of these were just straight putts, but someone definitely put some amount of thought into it.
Even with the uptick in creativity, the course is in need of repair. Even the simple astroturf is showing severe water damage and noticeable rips at the beginning of each hole. This definitely wasn’t the worse course we played, but I don’t think we will find a reason to come back.
