We are big fans of mini-golf at the beach, but we do have our favorites. Unfortunately, Lighthouse Point Mini Golf in LBI might be a bit too simple for us to think about making it a regular occurrence. The course sits on the historic Jenkinsons Boardwalk, and people were out in full force when we visited on a Saturday.

Lighthouse Point offers two courses (Red & White) that both center around a pretty generic beach theme. There are a few obstacles, but nothing that was tremendously challenging or interesting, a really generic Harris Golf course. The greens were very well kept, as were all the course features, despite the water being a bit murky. They didn’t have designed score cards, a bit surprising for a shore town, so we don’t really know what the par would have been, but our winner came in at a solid 40.

We started out on the Red course, but a father and son who seemed eager to finish their game as quickly as possible was right on our tail, which made the experience a bit less enjoyable. We were able to start the White course with nobody behind us, and were able to settle into our game a bit more. While playing on the boardwalk is nice, you weren’t really able to see the beach given that the snack bar in front is actually obstructing your view, and you are right next to an extremely crowded parking lot.

Pricing for one course is $14/adult, $10/child, and $9/Senior. For both courses, it goes up to $22/adult, $16/child, and $15/Senior, which is a bit steep given the generic element of the course, but you can probably find some savings since they take the credits that are used at the arcades and amusement parks on the Boardwalk.
