Serene’s Mini Golf is a perfect spot for an afternoon in Vineland. We must confess, we don’t really expect much when going to inland courses that we haven’t heard of before, but we were blown away by the creativity, detail, thought, and care that is put into all of the elements of the course.

Serene’s is under new ownership as of 2021, and their golf course started renovations in 2022. A few of their larger holes still haven’t had new turf put in, but there were no glaring rips and patches that really affected the game, other than just a noticeable difference in speed when playing on the newer turf. Our only other drawback here is the cups were very shallow, and we found that to be affecting some of our putts.

Other than those two things, the experience of this course was really top notch and a real hidden gem. The water was pristine and refreshing, and even featured some frog friends. There was beautiful masonry surrounding the entire course, quite literally elevating it off the ground in certain parts and giving it a stately feel. On the back nine, there was beautiful flagstone that literally made the 16th green levitate over a pond. The course also featured one of the most difficult dog leg holes we had ever seen. With the plants and trees and water, this felt like a real “park” course without journeying to the forest. All during our round we saw members of the staff caring for the course, and after speaking to the owners during our visit, it is clear they have big plans for not only the course, but the entire property.

We give a little deduction on creativity here because it seemed like two or three holes felt off and like a little bit of wasted space. It remains to be seen if the new owners want to change the actual play of any holes, but there are one or two areas where space could be better used. We also will ding the atmosphere just because of an incredibly loud train that came by right across the street (of course, not their fault).

Par for this course was 46, which we would argue is well under what it should be. The course only has one par 4, but we gather it could have at least three or four. It’s front 9 had a par of 20, which is the same as some kids courses on the boardwalk, and Serene’s was much more challenging than that. Our winner came in with a 53, and we gather the real par on this course should be at least 50 or 52. Pricing was only $7/person, which is a steal for the quality of this course.

Overall, we can’t wait to find a reason to return to Serene’s. This expansive and affordable course is a great place for just a day of family fun, but could also host some really competitive tournaments.
