The Gift Barn may be our favorite gem of a course on the Cape, as it’s not usually too flocked with tourists, always in great condition, and with some really kooky obstacles. The Gift Barn has now been a family owned establishment for almost 50 years and includes a large souvenir shop, an arcade, mini-golf, and The Red Barn Pizza, and the parking lot is usually well packed any night with people enjoying one of those activities.

The course is a a two level barnyard theme layout over plenty of space with a plank floor throughout, which gives it a more backyard feel and helps to give plenty of room to spread out when it gets a bit more crowded. These larger-than-life wacky obstacles are always painted and kept up to perfection. Our favorites include a rabbit, swan, and turtle.

But the course isn’t all whimsy and merry. There are some tough putts, but aces to be had on multiple holes. The turf is always in peak condition as is the boards surrounding the greens, something we found is frequently deteriorating on other courses. The grounds, as well as all the various sculptures and barnyard animals have always been well kept and feature nicely in the design of the course.

There are really only a few things this course has going against it. One is the obvious metal cups; we know these can help reduce the wear around the cup, but they will undoubtably affect someones shot during the round. The second is the difficulty level. We played this course site unseen a couple years ago and scored a 41. This time we came back and our winner was able to get a 39, along with three aces. If they could find a way to make the course a tad more difficult, this could really elevate the game. The only other gripes we had are small technical issues that probably only we care about. The 18th hole is their free game hole, so you are really playing only 17 holes. In addition, they just have a generic scorecard, so no idea the par here.

Overall, this is the absolute best deal you will get for high-quality mini-golf…maybe ever. At only $5/person, this course becomes a must-visit in Cape Cod, as you will certainly not find a better price, and you will not be disappointed by all the Gift Barn has to offer.
