OC Adventure Golf is situated around the very popular Ocean City Waterpark. The course doesn’t really have a concrete theme but does seem have a very interesting layout. All in all, it’s a great alternative a little bit further down the Boardwalk, but does get waterlogged in a few area.
The course takes you through multiple levels along rocky paths that weaves its way through the property, while still maintaining a bit of distance from those inside the waterpark. The first 5 holes are near the front, then you walk on a long plank towards the back of the waterpark for the next 9 holes, before returning for the next 4, one of which is a free game hole.
While this is sometimes one of our favorite courses on the Boardwalk, the past few times we have been here the course has been plagued by severe flooding issues on some of the greens. Some water is clearly expected, but we are talking about large puddles on multiple holes. There are several areas where the large drips from the slides above are down right annoying. On a bit of a positive note, the course doesn’t seem to have water damage necessarily; it appears to hold up well to the punishment. However, the large amount of water can easily make the pavement extremely slick.
The price is $9/person, which is right on target for the Ocean City Boardwalk, but we would like to see the quality stepped up a bit when there are $5 golf courses with better atmosphere and less space down the street. Par for the 17 holes is 38, and we came in this time at 40, with only one ace on the course. We’ve done better before, but this course still poses a bit of a challenge when it’s not soaking wet.
