Hamilton Golf Center is part of a nice little recreational area just outside of Trenton, so we stopped by on our way to Philadelphia to check it out. While it didn’t blow us away, some interesting hole layouts and it’s higher level of difficulty made for an enjoyable visit!
The course does have some nice smaller addons, like hand-painted houses and nice bridges next to a central waterfall. However, some of the water features clearly have drainage problems, because you can see that the holes around that area have pretty severe water damage. While there were no obvious rips or tears, you can tell that the course may be in need of a refresh. Because of this, the course also played incredibly quickly, increasing some of the difficulty here significantly. In addition, while there is plenty of plant life and greenery around the course, a good amount of it appears to be overgrown and verges on impeding in your game.
The course has no fancy obstacles, but that doesn’t make the course any easier. The course doesn’t list any hole as par 2, and while the four par 4s here can’t hold a candle to the par 4s of a place like The Shack, this course still maintains some difficult and interesting hole designs. With a par of 58, we were able to come in with a 51, settling in after tracking at par through 9 holes. We only recorded one ace, which happened to be on the first hole. Pricing was very good at only $7/adult and $5/child. While this isn’t a course we would make a point to travel to in the future, it’s definitely a great option for those living in the area, as long as it doesn’t fall into further disrepair.
