Most of the Jersey Shore has ton of mini golf options, especially if the town has a bustling boardwalk like Ocean City, Wildwood, or Cape May. However, there are still those quiet towns that may have quality options.

We’ve documented most of the other courses on Seven Mile Island, which includes Stone Harbor, Avalon, and Sea Isle. Go Fish is one of two courses located in Avalon, the other being Pirate Island, and it boasts a unique, family friendly feel. This course may appear more simple in its layout, and it definitely is on the smaller side. However, it makes up for this with its exceptional creativity and the quality of its obstacles and greens.

Go Fish boasts all different kinds of aquatic animals in an interesting take on the “by the sea” theme you can see at some courses. You are immediately greeted by a massive shark, and the adventure just continues with a big mouth bass, grouper, a sperm whale, and dolphins all becoming obstacles. All of them are beautifully painted and are larger than life, which gives the course some more presence despite it’s smaller footprint. However, because it does have that smaller footprint, most of the holes are relatively short and are fairly straightforward. Sometimes, it even makes more sense to just avoid the obstacles entirely. The greens were in exceptional condition, especially given rain the night before and being late in the season.

The drawback of this course, in addition to it’s simplicity, is the price. $13/person feels very steep for a course of this size, but when you consider the other option is Pirates Island down the street at $14.95/person, it starts to feel like a bargain. Given the overall feel of the holes, we felt relatively confident that we would get a sub-40 round. However, some metal cups set us back two strokes early. Then, there is a very challenging lighthouse hole which, although some seem to like it, we found a bit weird and awkward, and that also cost us two strokes. Add in another bad putt, and our winner recorded only one ace on their way to a 41, under the par of 44. Overall, if you are looking for a family friendly option on Seven Mile Island, especially one that is stroller or wheelchair accessible, this is a good bet!
