After putting in a fairly good first game of the day at another driving range course, we walked into Manchester Family Golf Center with a good deal of confidence. And this course will get a bit of a bump because it just plain humbled us.

Is it possible we got tired or hot on the back nine? Is it possible that we felt rushed and anxious by a few smaller groups who were breathing down our necks? Absolutely! But we do have to give the course some credit here, and we would definitely come back here for the chance to redeem ourselves.

The course had optional rubber tee mats, but we always just kick those aside. The course had thin carpet, so the ball played very fast. It also had some almost imperceivable breaks that made trying to read putts much trickier than normal. Despite being very shady, the course was well kept with almost no debris, and had several unique and interesting holes that were longer than you might expect in a condensed area.

While the course did have water features available, there weren’t any running when we went. Although it doesn’t seem to integrate into the course, the atmosphere of a course does suffer by just seeing empty, dry holes. $9/adult and $8/senior feels a tad high for this course, but we will chalk it up to inflation.

Overall, this course had a feel similar to Farmview Golf Center in North Jersey, another sneakily challenging and interesting course. Despite the poor scores this time, we will keep this on our list for our next trip down the shore.
