Saxon Woods Mini Golf 1800 Mamaroneck Ave, White Plains, NY 10605

We’ve been trying to get Saxon Woods for some times on our drives over to Connecticut, but we finally made it on a recent trip to upstate New York.
The course is a bit of a quirky one, as it seems like one of the places that saw three courses having a going-out-of-business sale, took all their obstacles, and splashed it together on one course. However, the course is in relatively good condition. The course sits next to a popular town swimming pool, which one this day was filled to the brim, but we were only one of three or four groups on the mini golf course.
Adults were $10, which felt a little bit expensive, but this course has more than meets the eye from the curb. It is deceptively large and very spacious, with several interesting hole designs. It also was relatively clean for a park course flanked with trees, and this made for some very good shade on a hot summer day.
Some downsides included a boring generic scorecard with no par, as well as the fact that the small flags were stuck in the holes. Our winner carded a 44, getting a 22 on both the front and back 9. While not the most outrageous course out there, it does deserve to be a tick above just your generic course for its sprawling landscape.
