Shipwreck Island Mini Golf 800 Ocean Ave N, Bradley Beach, NJ 07720

OVERALL: B+
While technically a shore course, Shipwreck Island is situated on a relatively quite stretch in Bradley Beach, a little bit south of Asbury Park. Right on the Boardwalk with easy access to the beach, this course is a perfect combination of atmosphere and a quality course.
We’ve stopped at Shipwreck Island many times as it is a nice halfway point on our way home from Ocean City. The Harris course is always extremely well kept, and the turf always looks like it has been freshly replaced. The only thing going against the course is it mostly flat, you aren’t going to see any steep elevation changes or tremendously long puts. Most of the holes can be two-putted, although it does play more difficult than you would think, and you can easily get carried away if you aren’t focusing on your putts. Despite metal cups and the fact that holes 18 is just a simple ball return, the holes aren’t overly simple, they can definitely provide a competitive atmosphere.
The course is very reasonably priced at only $10/adult, which makes it some of the cheapest on the Jersey Shore. We’d take this course over the nearby Asbury Park boardwalk easily if you are game to just take a 5 minute drive south. This course is also never too crowded, which makes it easily playable at all times of the day. Overall, despite the fact that it is a bit more simple, the sleekness and atmosphere of the course really elevate it above a lot of others that may have more bells and whistles.
