Seaport Village Golf is another classic Ocean City course that we’ve been playing for many years. The course has undergone a brief paint job in the past 5 or 10 years, but overall the course has been the same overall. The course boasts two ginormous sharks at their entrance, and takes you through the history of the famous Sindia shipwreck, including a massive replica of the ship itself.
Overall, this course has always been beautiful and impeccable condition. The greens have always been well taken care of, and the course has a great boardwalk atmosphere while still immersing you in the Sindia and the nautical seaside village. It is owned and built by the same team who built Golden Galleon just down the street, so it shares it’s fancy for aces, but Seaport takes the game up just a little bit more. The ways that you can go about getting those aces is just more interesting, if not necessarily more difficult. However, as we learn when we play with a lot of people, sometimes failing to get an ace can lead to a 3 putt or worse.
One thing that changed during the pandemic was Seaport changed to extremely shallow holes, which can make a lip out far more common than other courses. However, ace opportunities are available on almost every hole, and we have spent years trying to master as many as possible, and you will want to keep coming back to see which ones you can master. Others require more luck than others, and some of the wooden channels are a bit unreliable from player to player, but overall, you are probably looking at being decently under par if you know where to hit it.
On our absolute worse game in recent history, we scored a 42, which was still under the par of 44. Our best game saw us chalk up 8 aces on the way to a 33. We’ve seen friends get up in the high 40s, but this course has some easy ace opportunities to make up for some mistakes. Pricing is $8/person, which is right on par with other Boardwalk courses. Overall, despite the low level of difficulty, we still love Seaport Village for it’s top-notch atmosphere and creativity, and will continue to try and come back to master all the various ace opportunities!
