Dingers is a brand new mini golf course to Connecticut having just opened on Memorial Day in 2023, and you can still feel the newness in the air. The Augusta Elite carpets are in peak conditions as are the rock barriers, similar to those we found at the Island Course of Aloha Mini Golf in Myrtle Beach, SC. When we went in early August, they were experiencing some difficulties with their water features, but the owner assured us they hope to have it back up and running soon.

As we mentioned, it’s no surprise the course was in great condition given that it is just recently opened. They have some holes where there are two pins, which they refer to as “dealers choice.” Honestly, for us, it just feels weird, but that is just our own thing. We don’t love a course right off the highway, but it will hopefully attract good business. They are also looking to finish off batting cages in addition to the established driving range and pro-shop.

As with reviews of Aloha and some of the other Masters course in Myrtle Beach, the hole design at Dingers is very subtle, which can be good for competition, but can also make the holes feel a bit repetitive and simplistic. The holes are also pretty short, and it seems like the holes may be repeats from the older golf course that once was there. Given the amount of property, we thought the course could expand out a little bit on a few holes to add some difficulty. We had a few near aces, and if we were to return and play a few more rounds, there are definitely multiple holes that could be consistent aces.

Pricing here was $9/person and $7/senior, but I noticed afterwards it appeared I was either charged a tax or a credit card fee, which is not mentioned anywhere on their page. Also a bit weird that I don’t think pricing was displayed anywhere at the check-in. Certainly not accusing anyone of being deceptive or trying to rip us off, but it did feel a bit weird afterwards. Unfortunately they don’t have branded score cards so we don’t know what par was, but our winner came in at a frustrating 45, and would love to have some putts back that could be easy twos that turned into threes.

Overall, Dinger’s is definitely different than your normal driving range course, but it’s immaculate turf isn’t enough for us to overlook its simplicity just yet, but we certainly wouldn’t mind pairing this with a round at Hidden Valley just down the road.
