OVERALL: B+

Tee’s Golf Center was a typical Harris course that had been stretched out, and we were thrilled that this presented more of a challenge that smaller Harris courses like Landis Links. An additional bonus here was some great upkeep of the course in general, along with some interesting twists on typical Harris holes.

As we’ve mentioned before, driving range courses can be really hit or miss. Thankfully, Tee’s was a real success. There are two course offerings, a red and a blue course. We were able to play both courses, and while they were somewhat similar, they were definitely worth playing both. The end is the red course finishes with a literal slide that looks repurposed from a playground, a really interesting feature that you see right when you approach the start of the course.

We won’t say that all the holes were extremely interesting, but we did appreciate the longer layout. It seems that in some areas, the initial design of the hole may have been adjusted, as there seems to be unused areas on some of the holes that you would have no real reason to hit it to. We were also a bit disappointed that water wasn’t more involved in the course. They do have a central water feature, which looked great, and the streams running towards the front of the course had crystal clear water. However, some of the ponds near the back of the course had more murky, standing water. Overall, the obstacles here are really the hills and valleys of the course itself, plus maybe a few rocks thrown in your way. Still, some of the more extreme elevation changes require a great tee shot, or you risk putting for a three or four. Surprisingly, the course did feature metal cups, but they were some of the most forgiving we’ve ever played with. Not sure if this was our imagination or if a different style was used, but it was a pleasant surprise!

We played on a particularly hot day, and there is little shade on the course, so that may have affected our scores because we didn’t come off the course thinking it was too challenging, even though we both came in above par. Par for the blue course was 42; it featured six par 3s and the remaining were listed as par 2. Ironically, at least one of us was able to get a two on all the par 3s listed, and we even managed an ace on one of them, so not sure how accurate that par is. Looking back, maybe we could have shaved off a few points, but we also think the par could maybe go up by a few strokes as well. Our winner came in with a 44 and one ace on the course. Pricing was incredibly reasonable at $7/person, although they don’t offer any discount for playing both courses. Still, with that price, it almost works out as the same total amount as some other 36 hole courses.

Overall, this is definitely a course we would visit again if in the neighborhood. It’s not going to wow you with theme or structure, but it does make for great putting practice. The course also was extremely well maintained, and was not as crowded as we thought it should be, although when we drove by the night before, it did seem particularly packed, so it seems like this is a popular night activity for people in the area.
